CyanogenMod hitting Xperia L, E, TX, J, SP, UL, Miro, Tipo and a few more

CM love

The popularity of CyanogenMod needs no description. For those unwilling to go a long way with the stock Android, or the skinned version from their manufacturer, CyanogenMod has been their way of relief for a long time. And if you have been holding a Sony Xperia L, E, TX, J, SP, UL, Miro, or Tipo waiting for an official support from CyanogenMod, you appear to be in luck.

A search with the string “Sony” in CyanogenMod’s website reveals these new devices as listed for upcoming releases. That means, soon owners of these Xperia devices will be able to install CyanogenMod officially on their phones.

Of course, we can’t tell when CyanogenMod will be available for these devices since it isn’t official yet. We only know this from taking a look at a search result on CM’s website. But since these are listed, it’s safe to assume they will be released sooner or later.

The list, however, misses a couple of Sony’s recent popular phones such as Xperia Z1 and Xperia M. Some might also miss Xperia C from the list of CM builds.

It’s worth mentioning that CyanogenMod is officially Cyanogen Inc. now as it has previously partnered up with Oppo to bring out Oppo N1 with Cyanogen’s ROM pre-installed. Likewise, as a recent anonymous source suggests, Cyanogen Inc. is working with Oppo’s ex-VP to release a new hardware under a completely new name. The new phone is supposed to have a “normal-sized” display and sport a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset. We will have to wait a few more weeks to get official details on where CyanogenMod is headed.

Are you an Xperia user? Will you be installing CyanogenMod on your Xperia phone once the ROM is released? Let us know your reasons.
