Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini to release worldwide mid-July

Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini

Samsung is well-known for releasing a ‘mini’ edition of its flagship series, Samsung Galaxy S. It was only a matter of time until the Korean company did it again. There have been rumors about a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini phone for some time now. And there is a new source claiming that the phone will hit the shelves as early as next month.

The Galaxy Sx Mini series are usually downsized version of their full counterparts. But this time, it’s going to be a little different. Samsung has decided to keep some of the premium features that come with Samsung Galaxy S5. This includes some hardware features as well as software.

On hardware part, the Galaxy S5 Mini is reported to include the fingerprint sensor, heart rate monitor and full IP67 water and dust resistance. On the software part, it includes some of Samsung’s latest innovations such as Ultra Power Saving Modes and Kids. Good news is, finally you can get your hands on these premium Samsung features without having to accept an oversized megaphone that you’re not comfortable with in your hands.

That’s because the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is a 4.5-inch phone with 720p resolution display. It packs a 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos 3470 processor with Mali-400 MP4 GPU and 1.5 GB RAM. It packs 8 megapixel shooter on the back and 2.1 megapixel on the front. It has an LTE radio, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, IR Blaster, NFC, and GPS.

On launch, it will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat; but that will be shadowed by Samsung’s TouchWiz UX, so that may be a bad news for those who hate this part of the Samsung Android phones.

There is no words about the pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini yet, but the source seems confident that the phone will be unveiled and made available worldwide this July.

What’s your take on Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini? What do you think the price of the device will be?
