Xiaomi is coming up with a second, upgraded version of Xiaomi Redmi phone that has 2 GB of RAM in it. The company is reportedly releasing the phone this coming February 13, ahead of the Chinese New Year which is on February 19.

Xiaomi’s original Redmi phone receives mostly positive reviews from the press and customers. But the fans expected a little more from the phone and wanted 2 GB of RAM instead of 1 GB. Xiaomi apparently listened to them and is bringing out the 2 GB model of Xiaomi Redmi phone which also has 16 GB of storage.

The Chinese brand said that the phone will go on sale between the period of February 13 to February 25. Orders will proceed as normal delivery, but phones ordered on February 18 and 19 might be delayed due to the Chinese New Year holiday. But the company said it’s committed to deliver phones to all orders within February 18.

Xiaomi Redmi with 2 GB RAM model will retail for 799 Yuan, which is about 128 when converted into US dollars. The phone’s other specification will remain the same as the original Redmi phone — 4.7-inch 720p display, 1.2 GHz quad-core 64-bit processor, 8 megapixel back and 2 megapixel front camera.

Xiaomi is already a hugely popular smartphone vendor in the world. With this kind of track record — acting on user feedback — the company is destined to do even better in the coming days.
