However, true Android users won&#8217;t find the joy in using their smartphones until they gain what is called root access.<\/p>\n<p>Root access allows you to do a lot more than you&#8217;re normally allowed to do. Sajib for Android Kothon English.<\/em><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Why root Symphony W125<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>By gaining root access, <strong>you&#8217;ll void\/lose your warranty for your phone<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>By gaining root access, you can overclock to get maximum performance or underclock to get more battery backup.<\/li>\n<li>Root access allows you to do advanced stuff such as <a title=\"How to Increase Android Phone\u2019s Internal Memory with Link2SD App\" href=\"http:\/\/en.androidkothon.com\/2013\/02\/02\/how-to-increase-android-phones-internal-memory-link2sd-app\/\" target=\"_blank\">increase internal memory on your Android phone<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Root access also allows you to use Titanium Backup, DroidVPN to bypass blocked websites, and remove unnecessary system apps that do nothing but eat up your phone&#8217;s RAM and space.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now, if you&#8217;re convinced to root your phone, follow along the rooting tutorial <strong>at your own risk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>How to root Symphony W125<\/h2>\n<p>Things you&#8217;ll need to root your precious Symphony W125 are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A computer running Windows\/Linux. Moderate knowledge with command line is required for Linux users.<\/li>\n<li>Micro-USB cable.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.box.com\/s\/m3b483tchzg9qa8ct9fc\" target=\"_blank\">Download this file<\/a>. Mirror: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.4shared.com\/zip\/qSLKMAI0\/w125_root.html\" target=\"_blank\">4Shared<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>First of all, unzip the downloaded file. You&#8217;ll end up seeing a screen like the one below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/OjdlQk7.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Turn USB Debugging on by navigating to\u00a0<strong>Settings -&gt; Developer Options -&gt; USB Debugging<\/strong>. You might see a dialogue box, tap yes to continue.<\/p>\n<p>Now, connect your phone using USB cable to the computer. After connecting, you&#8217;ll need to install drivers. Please note that if you&#8217;re on Linux, you can skip to the rooting process right away. But if you are on Windows, you&#8217;ll need to follow the steps below.<\/p>\n<h2>Installation of Drivers<\/h2>\n<p>&#8211; Go to Computer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/H3Pif0D.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Click on System Properties.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/NooWSRf.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Click Device Manager from the left sidebar.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/7lNlmeP.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; In the screenshot above, you&#8217;re seeing &#8220;Fly IQ446&#8221; because I&#8217;ve flashed that firmware on my Symphony W125. In your case, &#8220;Symphony W125&#8221; will show up. Right click on that and choose &#8220;Update Device Software.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/0BaxwPB.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Click on \u00a0Browse My Computer For Driver Software.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/1xl48PD.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Choose Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/TtaMxfS.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Click show all devices and hit the next button.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/dSM6TNl.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Now click on the \u00a0Have Disk button.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/THomvUm.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Click Browse.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/TnjQLGk.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Click Locate File and browse to the folder where you&#8217;ve decompressed the downloaded files. Navigate into the usb_driver folder and choose android_winusb file. Click open.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/Q6VeGZW.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Choose OK.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/TnjQLGk.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Choose Android ADB Interface and click Next.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/2QFtSoA.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; At this point, 2 separate windows may show up. Chose OK or &#8220;Install this driver anyway&#8221;; depending on which one shows up.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; If you see a window like the screenshot below, driver installation has just been successfully completed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/f7rl6VW.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Root Symphony W125<\/h2>\n<p>&#8211; Navigate to the downloaded files.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/9fhxQ9m.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Run the file named &#8220;run&#8221;. Linux users go to terminal and apply the following command on the parent folder &#8220;chmod 777 -R w125 root&#8221;. Now from within W125 root folder, run the run.sh file by issuing a command &#8220;sudo sh run.sh&#8221;. If you&#8217;re not familiar with command line interface, it&#8217;s better and safer to do the whole thing in Windows.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Make sure your phone is connected to the computer with USB Debugging turned on. On Windows, after you run the file named &#8220;run&#8221;, a command prompt identical to the following will show up. Press enter.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/vzUJ5mG.png?w=596\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Wait a few moments. This tool will root your phone and at the end of the process you&#8217;ll be required to press Enter in order o reboot the phone. In the screenshot below, it shows failure because my phone is already rooted. If you&#8217;ve followed until this carefully, you&#8217;ll see success in that screen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.imgur.com\/uOZmcsI.png?resize=596%2C631\" width=\"596\" height=\"631\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; After your phone is restarted, open the application drawer and see if there&#8217;s an app called SuperSU.
